Who Is Tori Kelley? A Story of Creative Resilience and Becoming

TORI KELLEY, PH.D. is the founder of Central Florida Mental Health. After graduating with a doctoral degree in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Barry University, Tori decided to follow her dreams as a multi-disciplinary artist and later earned an MFA at the Vermont College of Fine Arts. She loves writing, singing, and exhibiting her artwork. Most recently, she represented the United States in the 24th Japan International Art Exchange Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, curated by Julienne Johnson, and earned the Gold Award for Excellence for her photograph, “Flying Through Italy.”

Tori is an avid writer and poet and is represented by Joyce Sweeney of The Seymour Agency. The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators chose her young adult manuscript for a Rising Kite Award. Her advice column, Talking With Tori, was published in The South Lake Press weekly for five years. Dr. Kelley teaches Creative Resilience: Story, Music, Art Therapy to heal others and herself from childhood trauma. A passionate children’s advocate she has presented mental health literacy programs at National Council of Teachers of English conferences.

Under just her first name, Tori writes transformative music and invites you to listen to her albums, True To You and Beautiful Pain, which contain original songs of personal tragedy and triumph.

Though she grew up in Italy, Tori calls Central Florida home, where she enjoys spending time on the water with her family.
