Happy Customers Share Their Joy!
I met Tori when I was invited by a friend to attend her scrapbooking class at the art league shop in Clermont. It was such a fun experience! Tori is a fun, bubbly, encouraging teacher. Her art is fun and inspiring! I recently bought some incredibly cute items from her shop for my home. She seemed surprised that I was going to frame her notecards, but I couldn’t “use” them as they were far too whimsically cute! So, that’s just what I did, and I am enjoying them immensely! Thanks Tori! If you get a chance to take one of her classes you’ll have a blast!

Any time I can save something from heading to the landfill or our oceans, I’m happy. What better way to transform than to turn trash into something beautiful through art?
Tori Kelley, Gordon, the Endangered Sea Turtle, 2023. (Acrylic, Mixed Media) 16×20. Sold. To purchase a copy of this print or to view merchandise options, click the image.
After swimming with endangered sea turtles in Hawaii, and seeing the species struggle in my home state of Florida, I decided to create Gordon, the Endangered Sea Turtle as a mixed media artwork designed to raise awareness about the impact of trash on our oceans and marine life. Gordon’s shell is waxed paper painted with acrylics, alcohol inks, and glitter. His head, tail and fins are post-consumer latex gloves, and his stomach is made from packing paper. I’m hoping this piece will ask the viewer to consider their own participation in reducing consumerism, and recycling materials. Before buying something, ask yourself if you really need it. Before throwing something away, consider if it can be reused for something else, or at the very least, recycled. It’s my hope that Gordon will remind us to recycle and keep the oceans clean for generations to come.
Tori Kelley, Resiliency Series: Baby Elephant, 2024. (Mixed-Media on cotton) 16 x 20.
The state of our planet is both breathtaking and heartbreaking. Many beloved animals are under attack by our own comportment. I sculpted this baby elephant from post-consumer packing paper. She represents all the potential of new birth in the face of real challenge. The figure is unstable, bearing insurmountable weight on only three legs and stripped of its ivory tusks. We take what we want because we can. But does that mean we should? It’s been a long night for elephants, but if we work together, we could create a new dawn.
Tori Kelley, Let Your Dreams Take Flight, 2024. (Acrylic, Mixed Media) 16×20 $200 Contact tori@torikelley.com for purchase inquiries.
Post-consumer pieces of waxed paper, latex gloves and broken fairy-light wires bring this artwork to life as the butterfly boings around on its wired-spring, emerging from its latex glove cocoon nestled deep into rolled waxed-paper reeds, sprinkled with acrylic paint and alcohol ink. This piece shows the potential of creating something new by harnessing the power of something old. It’s my desire to showcase all the beauty and hope that nature encompasses, emphasizing its worthiness of our efforts to responsibly protect it. My dream is to live in a place where we mutually respect and value one another.
Tori Kelley, Resiliency Series: Darkest Night. Victor Hugo, Les Miserables, 2024. (Acrylic, Mixed Media) Sold.
This little bird’s nest is made from pencil sharpener shavings. The rest of the pieces are cut, stamped, and inked paper on an acrylic background.

Artist Statement by Tori Kelley
The driving force behind everything I do is connection. I’m seeking to experience connection for myself and provide connection to others. As a child, I was kept separate from the world while at the same time exposed to things children should be protected from. The arts in all its forms gave me the tools needed to untangle the complicated knot that was my childhood. I thought that by earning a Ph.D. in counseling I’d be able to heal my family of origin, but I painfully learned that we only have the power to heal ourselves. Directing all of my education at myself, I finally went back to school and added a Master of Fine Arts degree and freed myself to live my best life. Knowing the power that art holds to educate and transform, I seek to shine that light into the world as a beacon not just for myself but as a call to others to find their own passion and have the courage to embrace their truest selves.
My favorite medium is soft pastels. I love how the pastels play nicely with others when you blend them together. Their colors are so unapologetically vibrant, as if no one ever told them to be quiet. When it comes to my second favorite medium, mixed-media, I enjoy using found objects and recycled materials along with acrylics, inks, and mixed papers. True creativity is using what you already have. Any time I can save something from heading to the landfill or our oceans, I’m happy. What better way to transform than to turn trash into something beautiful through art?
